As the 2006-07 NBA gets underway, the league is working hard to beef up promotion and bring in new fans. In addition to its normal magazine and billboard ads, the NBA is placing new video on major networks, featuring only basketball's brightest stars.
The spots show more game preparation, behind-the-scenes footage and even NBA family life (Shaquille O'Neal is filmed kissing his wife Good-bye, as he leaves for practice). Only the game's biggest names are featured -- LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Dirk Nowitzki, Steve Nash and O'Neal, to name a few.
The television ads make it easy to forget what's ugly about the NBA. They're fan friendly and very well done. Best of all, they get us excited about basketball, taking the focus away, at least for a moment, from all of the league's bad boys.
You can view all of these new spots now, courtesy of NBA.com.
