Go figure Utah Jazz fans. Who would have ever known that they would go nuts at seeing the Jazz top the NBA rankings. This is exactly what they did, though.
In just a few days, over 500 rabid Jazz fans from a Utah forum website scrambled to Suite101's NBA Power Rankings and an NBA All-Star article, eager to rave about the national notice of their Jazz and favorite player, Carolos Boozer.
It didn't take long for the discussion to go crazy. Jazz fans thrilled to Utah earning a top spot in the NBA rankings, and they love that one of their own, Carlos Boozer, is finally getting some national recognition.
Of course, these Utah fans are legitimate NBA nuts, too. They were quick on their message board to point out an editorial error in the NBA All-Star article. In their haste, they neglected to realize that this article is not conference specific. No matter. I'm just happy that they are happy.
If you had told me that Los Angeles Lakers fans were angered at Suite's usual omission of Kobe Bryant, or that New York fans think more should be written about the Knicks, I would not have been at all surprised.
When I saw the love the Jazz fans have for their club, though, I was shocked.
Maybe, in Utah, there just isn't much else to root for. Oh well, I hope they keep stopping for a visit. As long as the Jazz are winning and Boozer is rebounding, Utah's position on our NBA Power rankings will always be high.
