As we approach the NBA All-Star break and playoff races heat up, NBA trade rumors are quickly spreading around the league.
NBA trade rumors are racing around the league faster than Allen Iverson can throw barbs at his old 76ers team. RECENT NBA TRADE RUMORSThe hottest recent NBA trade rumor has Sacramento Kings forward and defensive specialist Ron Artest headed to the Miami Heat. The defending NBA champs have struggled all season, but head coach Pat Riley dispels the trade rumor, saying the Heat will not pursue a trade for Ron Artest. Clippers swingman Corey Maggette is also part of NBA trade rumors, that have Maggette headed to Toronto for Mo Peterson. This deal likely won’t happen, though, as the Clippers are rumored to be asking for more than just Peterson. Maggette, meanwhile, prefers to go to Orlando, but no deal was in the works with the Magic as of the new year. Another NBA rumor has the New York Knicks buying out the contract of disgruntled Steve Francis, paving the way for Francis to go somewhere else. Francis is averaging just 10 points per game for the Knicks. Meanwhile, one NBA trade rumor is no longer a rumor. The New Jersey Nets consummated an NBA trade with the Charlotte Bobcats, sending backup point guard Jeff McInnis to Charlotte in exchange for guard/forward Bernard Robinson. The trade gives the Nets more size, better defense off the bench, along with youth. Robinson is in his third year from Michigan, whereas McInnis is in his ninth season, giving the young Bobcats some desperately-needed veteran leadership.
