After a horrible start to the 2006-2007 season, the Phoenix Suns have won 14 straight games and are first in Suite101's NBA Power Rankings.

A wild week of pro basketball and suddenly the NBA Power Rankings have become much murkier than they have been all season. The good teams are exerting themselves, and upstarts like Utah and Houston are continuing their outstanding play. With the fog on another week of the NBA season lifted, here's another installment of Suite101's Weekly NBA Power Rankings.

  1. Phoenix Suns -- The Suns not only have a front-runner for the NBA MVP in Steve Nash, Amare Stoudamire is heating up. Phoenix has reeled off 14 straight wins and clearly deserves the top spot in our NBA Power Rankings.
  2. San Antonio Spurs – Tim Duncan and the San Antonio Spurs have the best record in the NBA at 19-6. They are 8-2 in their last 10 games and are a cinch for the two spot in any NBA Rankings poll.
  3. Utah Jazz – Utah has cooled recently but the Jazz is still 17-6, and as long as Carlos Boozer and Deron Williams continue their amazing seasons, there's no reason to believe that Utah will slip too far in the NBA Power Rankings.
  4. Los Angeles Lakers -- With LaMar Odom hurt, Kobe Bryant has elevated his game. He recently notched his second 50-point game of the season, in a pivotal win over NBA Western Conference rival Houston. The Lakers are playing better each week and are a threat to keep climbing the NBA Power Rankings.
  5. Chicago Bulls -- Chicago is 9-1 in its last 10 games and 14-10 overall. Someone woke up Ben Wallace, who recently had 27 rebounds in one game, which is bad news for other teams in the NBA's Eastern Conference.
  6. Orlando Magic -- After surging all the way to the fourth spot in our NBA rankings, the Magic stumbled a bit this past week. A big win over Cleveland and LeBron James, however, keeps Orlando in the top 10.
  7. Dallas MavericksDirk Nowitzki is an NBA MVP candidate, and the Mavericks continue their stellar play and are a mainstay in the NBA Power Rankings.
  8. Detroit Pistons – The Pistons are 7-3 in their last 10 and a very solid 10-3 against Eastern Conference foes. They are in first place overall in the East, and life after Ben Wallace doesn't seem so bad.
  9. Cleveland Cavaliers – Cleveland finished an up-and-down week with a humiliating loss at Orlando, in which they scored just 8 points in the second quarter. The Cavaliers and LeBron James are 6-4 in their last 10, though, and are currently third in the Eastern Conference.
  10. Houston Rockets – Yao Ming keeps getting better, and the Rockets are a very steady 14-9.
