The NBA Power Rankings aren't changing much these days, especially at the top, where the streaking Dallas Mavericks just keep winning.
Weekly NBA Power Rankings
- Dallas Mavericks (51-9) – Sixteen straight wins and a playoff team already. Who else but the Mavericks could top our NBA Power Rankings.
- San Antonio Spurs (45-18) -- The Spurs have a 12-game win streak of their won.
- Phoenix Suns (48-14) -- Two-time defending NBA MVP Steve Nash is healthy again, and the high-flying Suns are a threat to anyone on any given day.
- Utah Jazz (43-19) -- Utah has won six straight and appears to be as good as it was early in the year and is once again a solid number 4 in our NBA Power Rankings.
- Cleveland Cavaliers (37-25) – LeBron James has 12 straight games with 29 or more points and is once again an NBA MVP candidate. Meanwhile, James’ Cavaliers beat Detroit on the road and suddenly like the class of the Eastern Conference.
- Detroit Pistons (38-22) – A great defensive team, which is always hard to beat come playoff time.
- Houston Rockets (38-24) -- Yao Ming continues his recovery from a broken leg and is getting better nightly. He recently put up 24 points, 13 rebounds and was 12 of 13 from the line. Suddenly, the Rockets are surging in our NBA rankings.
- Chicago Bulls (36-28) -- The Bulls are getting hot at the right time. A balanced squad that can offer most teams matchup problems.
- Washington Wizards (34-27) -- On a mini-skid, the Wizards have Miami in their rear-view mirror.
- Toronto Raptors (33-29) -- The Raptors have a comfortable lead over improving New York.
