With the trade deadline a approaching, the NBA trade rumors are swirling faster than ever. Jamaal Magloire and Chris Webber are among those rumored to be traded.

First, it was Pau Gasol, then Ron Artest. Now, Jamaal Magloire is at the top of the NBA trade rumors.

Remember, though, NBA trade rumors are often more fiction than fact. This being said, here are a few of the current NBA trade rumors.

Jamaal Magloire, part of a front line logjam in Portland, is making better than $8 million per year. With rookie LeMarcus Aldridge in need of minutes and other millionaires, like Raef LaFrentz and Joel Przybilla lurking, someone may have to go, before the NBA trade deadline.

Of course, the man demanding most of the minutes and the basketball is star forward-center Zach Randolph. With so many quality NBA players on its front line, Portland may need to shop Jamaal Magloire and/or Joel Przybilla for some backcourt help.

Since Przybilla just signed a new 5-year contract, worth $32 million, Magloire is the player fueling the NBA trade rumors. The question is, who wants Magloire’s huge contract?

A former All-Star, Magloire is getting just 6 points and 5 rebounds per game in 19 minutes. His career scoring average is just 9 points. NBA trade rumors may have Maglorie moving, but someone would have to be pretty desperate to swallow his contract for this type of production.

Other NBA Trade Rumors

Various NBA rumors have Chris Webber interested in getting out of Philadelphia and perhaps heading to New York. Any deal involving Webber, though, would require some creative financing. Webber is due to make over $22 million next year.

The Chris Webber move must be pure NBA rumor, as money is a huge issue, and Webber would create a logjam at forward, with Channing Frye and David Lee currently getting all of the minutes.

In another NBA trade rumor, The Charlotte Observer reports that Bobcats forward-center Melvin Ely has requested a trade. Ely is averaging just 9 minutes and 3 points per game.

A historically bad shooter, Ely doesn’t offer much more than a big body to any team who may be interested in trading for him.
